The Headquarters transformation is still ongoing with a complete new front wall being built over the Easter period and also the fitting of a new kitchen. Again thanks to all the hard work by Alan Anderson.
St George’s Day 22 April
On Sunday 22nd April from 12noon to 5pm the district are holding the St George’s Day Service at Plessey Woods. This will incorporate a short open air service, followed by a fun filled afternoon.
This will start as a Full Uniform event for the service, but we would ask you to wear a t shirt underneath your uniform for the Fun Element after the service.
The scout section will be completing the Orienteering Course to be followed by wide games.
We would ask you all to attend and join in what will be a great afternoon.
Ford Castle Camp 4-7 May
This should be a great weekend.
The camp programme is mainly based around camp craft and improving our camp standards.
So you WILL be:
- Camping as patrols on your own Patrol Camp Site, which will include:
- Sleeping tents for both boys and girls
- An alter fire
- A chopping area
- A wood storage area
- Wet & dry pits
- A food store tent and dining area
- A patrol flag
Some of the things you will be doing...
Helping to pitch and strike a tent
Lighting a fire and cooking all meals
Build a simple pioneering camp gadget (i.e Patrol flag)
Keep your belongings organised and tidy
Learning how you would use an axe and saw safely
Building a camp oven
Building a bivouac and sleeping in it
Cooking a backwoods meal for your group.
You will also enjoy a weekend of FUN & ADVENTURE.
Each patrol will have a Cub as a guest on the Saturday to Sunday Night.
Centenary Camp at Seaton Deleval Hall 25-27 May
We have at present 10 Cubs and 9 Scouts attending Centenary Camp at Seaton Delaval Hall.
Letters and permission forms are still available.
If you still would like to go please complete and return back to us ASAP.
We will require a £10.00 deposit, and a balance of £20.00 by the 4th May.
